About the Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will:

  • Safely operate LGV Class C vehicles fitted with tipper/ hooklift equipment to transport biosolids between sites, including rural and off‑road locations across Devon and Cornwall.
  • Complete timely collections and deliveries in line with scheduled routes, operational priorities, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Ensure safe, compliant loading, securing, and unloading of containers in accordance with company procedures and biosolids handling standards.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records, including delivery/collection notes, tachograph data, and onboard system updates.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with the transport coordination team, dispatch, site staff, and land management teams to support smooth daily operations and customer expectations.
  • Provide excellent customer service during both on-site interactions and phone communications.
  • Navigate rural routes and remote farm locations requiring strong driving skills, awareness, and adaptability.
  • Contribute to sustainable waste management practices within the agricultural sector by supporting environmentally responsible biosolids transport.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and safety at all times.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Must hold a UK Class 2 C Licence.
  • CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
  • Experience operating tipper/ hooklift equipment (training may be provided for the right candidate).
  • Previous experience within waste, recycling, agriculture, utilities, or similar heavy transport environments is advantageous.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to safe working practices.
