Our local authority client has a great opportunity for an LGV/HGV driver. If you want to be rewarded for dedication and loyalty, enjoy managing your own workload & being outdoors and have excellent people skills then we want to hear from you.
Pay rate for this role is £14.72 per hour. This is a full time, temporary role for a minimum of 6 months.
You will drive and operate a variety of waste collection vehicles using safe and efficient driving techniques in line with client requirements. As an LGV/HGV driver, you will help deliver an effective and efficient waste collection and disposal service across locations within the York district, while following health and safety requirements and ensuring the safety of yourself, your crew, and members of the public. You will work as part of a team that includes waste loaders and will assist with loading duties when required.
You will need:
Driver CPC Qualification
Full Category C Driving Licence
Class 2 Driving Licence
A Digital Tachograph Card
Ability to work as part of a team
Experience of working under prolonged periods of sustained physical effort
Previous experience with waste or recycling would be an advantage although the client will offer in-house, on the job training and instruction on the various vehicles they operate in their fleet, so your experience as a driver will be utilised and your skills and knowledge base will increase.
