Your new role
As an SEN Teacher working with Hays, you'll have the opportunity to support pupils with a broad spectrum of needs, including SEMH, ADHD, ASD, MLD, PMLD and physical or medical needs. Depending on the setting, your responsibilities may include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons aligned with individual EHCPs
- Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment
- Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and external agencies
- Using creative strategies to promote communication, independence and positive behaviour
- Building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
- Contributing to the ongoing development of SEN provision within the school
We are recruiting for long term temporary roles, with many schools open to offering permanent contracts for the right candidate.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- A patient, resilient and compassionate approach to teaching
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to adapt your practice
- Confidence in delivering personalised learning and assessing progress
- A genuine commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers and achieve their potential
