University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sports and Exercise Medicine with a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education, research and training.
This is a 2-PA substantive post based at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM), a centre for evidence-based practice, education and research specialising in chronic & complex medical conditions. The successful candidate will be expected to show drive and initiative towards patient care, putting the patient first in line with the Trust core values.
The postholder will have a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of Musculoskeletal Medicine, as well as a specific interest and experience in back pain, complex musculoskeletal problems, neurorehabilitation, ultrasound-guided injections and multidisciplinary work. Other desirable skills include experience in ultrasound-guided spinal injections, medical acupuncture, manual medicine and evidence-based complementary medicine. Support and supervision will be provided toward proficiency in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders as required. The demonstration of a high-quality approach to patient management, being an integral part of the departmental team, with the ability to lead and work as a team member are essential. The postholder will be expected to have evidence of experience and personal engagement with clinical effectiveness relating to patient management, administrative tasks and clinical governance
