Engineering Manager Required

Leeds or London based

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead and manage engineering activities ensuring safe, compliant, and integrated design and delivery.
  • Act as the Contractors Engineering Manager under Network Rail governance, coordinating multidisciplinary design including civils, structures, MEP, rail systems, and interfaces with operations.
  • Provide technical leadership with a strong civil engineering focus while ensuring effective integration with other functions.
  • Manage the project through early Engineering Stages (ES3-ES4), setting scope, requirements, and design strategy.
  • Lead the project through Network Rail assurance and PACE processes including IDC/IDR and assurance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards, statutory requirements, and safety obligations, including CDM and engineering safety management.
  • Manage technical risk, interfaces, and change control throughout design and delivery.
  • Support construction and commissioning by resolving technical issues and providing engineering assurance through to EiS.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with MICE, MIET, or PWI.
  • Minimum 5-8 years in a senior engineering role within the UK Rail sector
  • Previous/current Network Rail CEM approval is mandatory
  • Proven experience working on large multi discipline infrastructure project
