We are looking to recruit a
HOTEL MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE
At Stirk House, we pride ourselves on providing guests with a comfortable, safe, and welcoming stay. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Operative to join our team and help keep our facilities in top condition.
We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative to ensure our hotel is always presented at its very best.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day repairs, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep across the property. You will work closely with the management team to ensure our guests enjoy a smooth, problem-free experience.
What you will be doing
Reactive Maintenance: Promptly fixing issues like leaky taps, broken light fixtures, toilet blockages, and damaged furniture.
Preventative Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections and repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical fixtures to avoid breakdowns.
General Repairs: Carrying out tasks including painting, plastering, tiling, and carpentry (e.g., repairing doors, locks, and furniture).
Emergency repairs – as required
Guest Service: Responding to guest room maintenance calls in a polite, efficient manner to ensure high satisfaction.
Tools: Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good order
Safety Compliance: Adhering to health and safety regulations, including fire safety procedures, and ensuring tools and equipment are safe to use.
Housekeeping Liaison: Coordinating with housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are in top condition for guest
What we are looking for
Technical Skills: Proficient in basic electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work.
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose issues and find practical, efficient solutions.
Capability to stand, walk, climb, and lift heavy items as part of daily tasks.
Flexibility: Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
Proven experience: in general maintenance or a similar role
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Good communication and problem-solving skills
