Summary
Our client specialise in the manufacture of high-precision sheet metal components for a range of industries, including e.g. aerospace, automotive, medical, etc. With a strong reputation for quality and craftsmanship, they are looking to expand their team with an experienced Fine Limit Sheet Metal Worker.
Role Overview:
Are you a skilled and detail-oriented Fine Limit Sheet Metal Worker?
Our client is looking to increase their workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication of precision sheet metal components using a variety of materials and machinery, while working to tight tolerances and high specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricating fine limit sheet metal components using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
Interpreting and working from detailed technical engineering drawings
Operating various sheet metal machinery (e.g. press brake, guillotine, rollers, etc.)
Assembling components as required, ensuring all work meets precise specifications
Working to production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
Performing quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in fine limit sheet metal work
Strong ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
Experience working to high specifications and tight tolerances
Skilled in using a wide range of sheet metal fabrication tools and machines
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Formal Sheetmetal/fabrication apprenticeship,
Understanding of MIG and Tig welding
Good hand/eye coordination
Able to work to SAM quality procedures and Health & Safety requirements
Keeping work area’s clean and tidy and can demonstrate the ability to work within the 5S philosophy
Willingness to take direction from Supervisors and follow that direction
Self-starter and able to take the initiative when not working under direct supervision
Ability to read and understand technical documents such drawing
Ability to prioritise, meet targets and achieve deadlines
Willingness to learn and develop self and apprentices
JOB PURPOSE
Fabricators wanted to work at our facility in Bristol to work on Highly specified Fabrications for the defence sector. Types of welding will be fillet welding and butt welding.
JOB SPECIFICATION
To be able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
Assemble steel components using hand-held tools and equipment
Understand and work to client specifications
Operation of overhead crane and safe slinging and lifting techniques to assist Fabrications
Work to SAM quality procedures
Assist in the training and development of SAM apprentices
Working to SAM Health & Safety requirements
