Crynodeb
You do not need to have prior peer support experience or training to apply for this role, however you will be expected to attend a peer support worker course if you have not undertaken prior training. You will need to be able to travel independently around the county and travel costs will be reimbursed. Please ensure you read the job description attached. In the supporting information note down the relevant skills and experience you have that are related to the essential and desirable criteria, as your application will be shortlisted against these criteria. Please note, applicants who do not indicate that they have lived experience of mental health challenges relating to eating disorders in their application will not be considered for the role. Please also confirm on your supporting statement that you have your own personal experience of an eating disdorder of have been a family carer for someone with an eating disorder. We also welcome applications from people seeking a part-time role (minimum 2 days per week). ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE -Personal lived experience of an eating disorder -Experience of being in a supportive and enabling role. -Experience of working in a team or group environment. DESIRABLE -Experience of working in the public sector. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES -Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills. -Computer literate. -Ability to share personal story of recovery in a professional manner. DESIRABLE -Presentation Skills ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING -Understanding and practical knowledge of recovery. -Understanding of the issues and challenges for service users with eating disorders and their families. OTHER - Must be able to travel to other locations across the county.
