The Discharge Lounge at St Helier Hospital plays a vital role in supporting patient flow and hospital capacity, ensuring patients are safely and efficiently transferred from an inpatient ward when they are fit to be discharged from hospital.
The registered nurse within the discharge lounge plays an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care to patients.
The role requires excellent communication with the post holder demonstrating the ability to work well within a team. You will work both independently and collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team throughout the discharge process, working closely with the Clinical Site Management Team and wider ward teams.
You will be responsible for promoting the use of the Discharge Lounge by identifying suitable patients, supporting and encouraging ward staff to utilise the service and that every patients needs are met during their time within the Lounge.
The role requires excellent communication, clinical judgement and organisational skills, alongside a proactive approach to problem solving in a fast paced environment.
