Carbon60 is currently looking for a Skilled Production Technician to join a client of ours based in Farnborough. Imagine an aircraft soaring at 60,000 feet, fuelled by sunlight and flying for months above traditional air traffic. That's our client, the unrivalled pioneers of High-Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) technology.
This AIT Skilled Production Technician position is on a contractual bases of 21 weeks from starting. Due to being a contract position it has both PAYE and Umbrella rates available.
Key Responsibilities of the AIT Skilled Production Technician:
- Perform avionic and mechanical equipment installation, wiring, and system integration of UAV platforms
- Manufacture avionic in-house components as required
- Maintain detailed build records
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety processes and reporting
- Self-certify completed work
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement of the production system
- Actively participate in problem-solving and corrective action delivery
The Ideal AIT Skilled Production Technician:
- Hands-on, multi-skilled practical avionic/electronic engineering technician
- Demonstrated knowledge of production and maintenance processes to high-quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, translating requirements into finished products
- Proven experience in proactively solving technical problems
- Practical experience in the production of avionic hardware and wiring installations
- Quality-conscious approach and strong organisational skills
- Proficient in conducting and recording installation and system integration tests
- Relevant academic qualifications (NVQ level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent experience)
- Time-served apprenticeship in avionic/electronic manufacture, installation, or testing
- Previous experience in the Aerospace sector
- Appropriate IT skills for the role
