We are looking to recruit Principal Clinical Psychologist Leads to our Liaison Psychiatry Service at Arrowe Park Hospital. This post is an exciting opportunity to develop psychological services for patients receiving care at Arrowe Park Hospital who have been referred due to concerns surrounding their mental health and wellbeing.

You would be joining us at an exciting time of development as we develop an established and sustainable Psychology workforce within the acute mental health pathway. The post will be well supported by Consultant Clinical Psychologists who are already in post within the Acute Pathway, based in our inpatient mental health services.

The benefits of these posts include being able to develop a service, whilst also being connected to established psychology teams and the wider psychology network. These posts are part of developing the Acute Pathway Psychology provision in the Trust and demonstrate CWP’s commitment to improving the psychological and trauma informed care provided to patients, families, and staff in the acute pathway. As the Principal Clinical Psychologist Locality Lead you will also be responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership within the Liaison Psychiatry team.

You will work with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, locality leadership and speciality clinical network to develop the psychological offer within Liaison Psychiatry. You will provide training, consultancy, supervision and support to multi professional staff, teams and managers, whilst taking a strategic approach to service evaluation, audit and research.

You will provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention, and formulation.

There will be opportunities to join internal and external professional and clinical networks, undertake research, and provide training and support to mental health and psychological colleagues. We have strong connections to the three DClinPsy regional training programmes (Liverpool, Lancaster and Manchester).

Clinical and professional supervision will be provided, and ongoing continuing professional development supported. A relocation package is available for those meeting criteria. Flexible, part time and job-sharing requests will be considered favourably.
