We are looking for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Anaesthesia.

The Opportunity:

Joining a friendly and supportive team of Anaesthesia Diplomates, clinicians, residents, interns, nurses and animal care assistant, you will contribute to the provision of clinical anaesthesia in the School’s Small Animal Hospital, Large Animal Hospitals and Large Animal Research and Imaging Facility and combine clinical excellence with compassionate care.

The role will provide the opportunity to get involved in delivery and assessment of our BVM&S undergraduate degree programme as well as our postgraduate training and online education programmes.

The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is situated on the Easter Bush Campus, 10 miles south of central Edinburgh on the edge of the Pentland Hills with easy access to a vibrant city centre. The location provides easy access to the outdoors with an amazing choice of nearby beaches and regional parks, as well as the Scottish Highlands and the Northumberland National Park within easy travel distance.

The Easter Bush Campus houses outstanding teaching and clinical facilities, including our newly opened state of the art Equine Hospital, the Large Animal Research and Imaging Facility as well as the Roslin Institute, one of the world’s leading veterinary research centres.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), with additional contribution to an out-of-hours rota. The salary for this post is:
UE08 starting from £50,253 per annum plus market force supplement.
UE09 starting from £63,606 per annum plus market force supplement.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Post graduate experience and further qualification in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, ECVAA or ACVAA Diploma holder or residency trained

A degree registrable with the RCVS

Experience in teaching, learning and assessment in a veterinary school or a strong interest in furthering your training in veterinary education

An ability to work alone but also to supervise and instruct colleagues and students

Demonstrable research output or a strong interest in developing your research career

Excellent communication skills
