About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Digital Marketing Manager to lead the development and delivery of digital marketing activity across the Institute of Swimming and Swim England.
Reporting to the Head of IoS Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and optimising insight‑led digital marketing campaigns that support organisational strategy, grow course bookings and strengthen brand engagement. You will work collaboratively across teams and with external partners to ensure a joined‑up, audience‑focused approach to digital marketing.
This role requires strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery across multiple digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:
Develop and deliver a targeted digital marketing plan aligned to the strategic objectives of the Institute of Swimming and Swim England.
Plan, develop and implement full‑funnel digital marketing campaigns across web, CRM, social media and digital advertising channels.
Lead the development and implementation of digital strategies including SEO, PPC, content, CRM and social media.
Support the management and development of the Institute of Swimming brand, ensuring brand values and identity are consistently represented across IoS and Swim England.
Develop, track and report on digital marketing KPIs, using insight to evaluate performance, identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
Support the design and development of engaging content suitable for digital channels.
Work collaboratively with internal teams to bring new courses to market and deliver effective launch campaigns.
Evolve and manage the Institute of Swimming website, ensuring a positive customer journey that supports SEO and drives course bookings.
Apply audience insight, segmentation and brand personas to improve engagement and inform contact strategies.
Build and maintain strong working relationships across the organisation, including Business Engagement, Marketing, Communications and Membership teams.
Manage relationships with suppliers and agencies, ensuring value for money and return on investment.
Keep up to date with digital marketing trends and developments, providing expert advice to support business growth.
Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role, in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven experience operating as a Digital or Marketing Manager or Executive across digital channels in a commercial environment.
- Experience of developing, executing and analysing strategic marketing plans.
Extensive experience using a mix of paid and owned digital channels, including:
- Digital marketing, Google PPC, SEO and analytics
- Social media management and advertising
- CRM and email marketing, including use of CRM systems
- Blog writing and content management
- Content management systems and website management
- Strong budget management and analytical skills, including experience with tools such as Google Analytics and Power BI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, organised approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience managing external agencies and suppliers.
- Commitment to continuous learning and keeping up to date with market changes.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing business needs.
- Degree‑level qualification or equivalent experience.
Desirable
- Experience working across both B2B and B2C environments.
- Design skills, with experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
