About the Role:
Looking for a role where your technical skills truly matter? Help make a difference in your local community by examining computers and digital devices to uncover vital evidence.
If you are an innovative problem solver and are ready for a challenging role that makes a difference to victims of crime then you could be part of a fast-paced technical team, as a Data Forensic Technician at Wiltshire Police and part of our South West Forensics collaboration.
This is a key role within the department providing general administrative support and supporting, enhancing and creating new avenues of investigation for officers and helping to bring offenders to justice.
In this role you will be dealing with the interrogation of a wide range of devices in order to obtain the best evidence possible for a variety of criminal cases.
On a typical day you will be extracting data from computers and mobile devices, as well as liaising with a broad range of police officers, staff and external organisations.
About you and your experience:
Experience of working with specialised forensic software/hardware and an understanding of ACPO guidelines and principles for computer based electronic evidence.
Experience of working in an administrative capacity within a technical environment, demonstrating attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and prioritise urgent requests.
Ability to communicate clearly at all levels with other professional persons
Ability to use information methodically to identify and analyse problems and draw logical conclusions
Ability to work with graphic and traumatic images and information on a regular basis without undue distress and work within a highly confidential environment.
