Job title: Temporary Personal Assistant

Location: Llandre, Ceredigion

Hourly rate: £15 per hour

Hours offered: up to 21 hours per week; up to 7 hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Introduction
This is a temporary vacancy to cover my PA absence to at least beginning of March

I am a young adult with learning difficulties who requires support to access the community. Your assistance will enable me to enjoy my leisure activities and help me develop independent living skills.

I would like to attend the causeway fellowship group in the morning in Aberystwyth then go on an organised bike ride arranged by a voluntary group in the afternoon, also in Aberystwyth. We could maybe go shopping or for a local walk or other activity.
I will need you to pick me up from my home in Llandre, take me to the activities and stay with me during the day.
You will ned to cycle with me, the group caters for all abilities.
It is essential you have a full driving license and have your own vehicle. You are required to wear a face mask when in proximity in enclosed spaces e.g. in the car.

Main duties
• To always keep me safe – for example, helping me cross the road safely and be conscious of my lack of awareness of danger.
• To encourage me to integrate into the local community. Local knowledge of activities available would be advantageous to this post, as the hours worked, will be within the community.
• To enable access to sports activities e.g. cycling, horse-riding, swimming, going for walks
• To go to shopping
• To support me to attend arts classes or other interest groups
• Visiting places of interest
• To enable me to go out socially and visit friends and extended family
• As I have a language disorder, in addition to my learning difficulties, it is important to communicate freely with my family who can help explain things if necessary.
• To complete monthly time sheets.

• Reliable and has good time keeping
• Able to use own initiative by offering your own suggestions and ideas regarding activities
• Positive about learning difficulties
• Caring, honest, responsible and patient
• Able to talk simply and to explain things slowly and in clear language
• Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job
• Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy
• An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship
• Good communication and inter-personal skills
• A full driving license and use of own vehicle is required
• You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours
• This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant. Due to me needing immediate support, I ideally need someone with a valid DBS

Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
