Looking for a veterinary role that gives you time, autonomy, and a genuinely supportive team? This long-established independent, family-run practice in Cambridgeshire could be exactly what you’re searching for.

With over 60 years of independence, this practice is driven by one simple goal: delivering outstanding veterinary care while creating a workplace where vets can actually enjoy coming to work!

Why Here?

You’ll be working in a modern, well-equipped environment that allows you to practise high-quality small animal medicine without unnecessary pressure or corporate targets. Everything is in place to support confident clinical decision-making and excellent patient care. Facilities include:

• Computerised clinical records
• Two large consultation rooms
• Fully equipped prep-room and operating theatre
• Dedicated dental room with a dental machine suitable for cats, dogs and rabbits
• X-ray with on-site processing
• Ultrasound including echocardiography (heart scan)
• Endoscopy
• On-site laboratory facilities for routine blood testing
• Urinalysis
• Microscopy

You’ll become part of a small, experienced and friendly team that genuinely works together:

• 2 experienced vets (including the owner) plus a regular, trusted locum
• 2 RVNs and 2 SVNs providing strong clinical support

The culture is collaborative, approachable and focused on doing the right thing — for patients, clients, and each other. This position is open to enthusiastic and hard-working veterinary surgeons of varying levels of experience, and all interests are welcome as they have a well-balanced team of all-rounders who equally enjoy surgery and medicine. All that matters is that you're hard-working with a good sense of humour, and ready to take full advantage of clinical autonomy, continuity of care, and case variety!

Based in a thriving market town in west Cambridgeshire, the practice enjoys excellent transport links. It’s easily commutable from Cambridge, Bedford, Huntingdon and Northampton, with London and Birmingham less than an hour away by train — ideal for both work and lifestyle balance.

The Role:

• Salary up to £60,000 DOE
• 4 day week; 9am and 7pm with 1 hour for lunch
• 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 9am – 12pm
• No OOHs

The Benefits:

• 5 weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays
• CPD is flexible and all reasonable requests are approved
• Certificate support
• Pension scheme
• VDS fees
• Staff discount
