Salary: £25,583 to £26,824 WTE Pro Rata, actual salary will be £15,212 to £15,950
26.25 hours per week. Monday – Friday, Term Time Only
Closing date: Monday 9th February 2026 at 12 noon
Interview date: Wednesday 11th February 2026
This is an opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant 1.3 to cover maternity leave for 9 – 12 months. The end date is subject to change based on the permanent employee’s return date.

The Governing Body at Ysgol Glan Aber are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, energetic and motivated learning support assistant to support learners in our Year 2 / Year 3 classroom.
The successful applicant will be joining a dedicated, talented and conscientious staff who work in a “happy, caring and supportive learning environment where pupils feel secure and respected.”
Ideally you will:
Knowledge in the use of ICT effectively to support learning
Use of other equipment technology – video, photocopier
Full working knowledge of relevant policies / codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Working knowledge of curriculum for Wales and other relevant learning programmes / strategies
Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
Ability to relate well to children and adults
Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
It is essential that you have:
Very good numeracy / literacy skills
NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants NNEB or equivalent qualification or experience
Training in the relevant strategies e.g. literacy and / or in particular curriculum or learning area e.g. bi-lingual, ICT, maths, English, ALN
