If you’re passionate about making a real difference, this role offers the chance to support people at crucial turning points in their lives. As an Outreach & Community Support Worker, you’ll work across Havant and nearby areas, helping individuals experiencing homelessness move towards safety, stability, and independent living.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands on position where no two days look the same. You’ll work both out in the community and 1:1 with individuals in temporary or supported accommodation. Your focus will be on building trust, offering practical and emotional support, and empowering people to take positive steps forward.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out outreach across Havant and surrounding areas
Identifying, engaging, and building rapport with individuals experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping
Supporting people to access accommodation, housing services, and essential resources
Providing 1:1 tenancy related support, including budgeting, appointments, and daily living skills
Lone working within the community (full training and support provided)
Working collaboratively with local authorities, housing teams, and partner agencies
Offering advocacy, advice, and person centred guidance
Travelling across the area to meet service users (driver essential)
About You
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient, and confident working independently.
You’ll ideally have:
Experience in homelessness support, housing, social care, or a similar role
Strong communication and problem solving skills
The ability to manage your own schedule and work autonomously
A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
