Cornwall Wellbeing & Public Health Service This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Knowledge and Intelligence Team (KIT) within the Wellbeing & Public Health Service. Your role will be wide-ranging and varied as the team delivers quality and timely public health intelligence to a broad range of stakeholders within the service and wider healthcare system. You will lead on shaping the tools, methods and practices used to undertake and communicate analysis in order to improve residents health and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with colleagues from the local authority, NHS, voluntary sector, and other agencies. Provide vital information, analysis, and visualisations to support evidence-based decision making. Interpret health, socio-economic and demographic data to transform raw data into actionable insights. Support evidence-based needs assessments and influence decision-making processes. Test hypotheses using data and present findings in a clear, accessible manner. Lead the production, development, and promotion of statistical/information products. Manage the storage, updating, and routine analysis of public health and population datasets. Oversee the work required to support governance, quality and performance and staff training and development. Management duties of intelligence team, including strategic direction, continuous improvement and staff development. About You: We are seeking a high-performing and enthusiastic professional who can build effective relationships with colleagues and partners across the council and healthcare system. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working in a data and analysis environment with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. The successful candidate will be creative, proactive and comfortable working across public sector organisations and on multiple projects. They will have experience in public health or local government / NHS analytics, including: Strong numerical and statistical skills Experience using of a range of tools and techniques to deliver intelligence covering querying, data extraction, analysis, visualisation, reporting and verbal presentations. Advanced IT and analytical skills with strong experience in using tools and systems such as SQL, Power BI, Advanced Excel and / or R. ArcGIS skills are desirable. Experience linking complex demographic, public health, healthcare and local authority datasets to derive meaningful and actionable analysis supporting reduction in health and healthcare inequalities. Knowledge of current and evolving public health and NHS services, policies and priorities. Experience of working within Data Protection Legislation including the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR. Experience with line management and development of intelligence or analytical teams. Qualifications: Educated to Masters degree level, equivalent qualifications, or equivalent professional experience. Evidence of continuing professional development. Experience of working with information in the NHS or similar public sector organisation is desirable. The full role profile is attached in the advert.
