Are you an ambitious, motivated pharmacist, striving to continuously improve patient care and experience? Then this position is for you! We have an exciting opportunity to join our established team of pharmacists, working primarily within the Women & Children team but with the support of the wider pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will have had knowledge and exposure to clinical pharmacy in paediatric patients, though this is not essential.

We will support you to complete the clinical diploma or Independent Prescribing qualification as desired, helping you to build a portfolio aligned to the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework.

Under the guidance of the Lead Pharmacist for Paediatrics & Women's Health, you will be responsible for the delivery of a responsive, proactive, patient focused clinical pharmacy service. This includes:
• Providing a clinical pharmacy service to wards including information and advice on the safe, effective and economical use of drugs to health professionals and patients.
• Clinical ward cover in the following areas: The Local Neonatal Unit (LNU), Children's ward, Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) and Gynaecology ward as part of the wider Surgical team.
• Provision of medicines information to patients and carers as needed
• Responsible Pharmacist duties within the dispensary on a rota basis
• Embarking on further training to support progression i.e., completion of clinical diploma, independent prescribing, specialist accreditation etc.

Our STAR values – Service, Teamwork, Ambition and Respect – are a golden thread running through everything we do. These values serve as a guiding principle, driving us towards our vision of delivering great joined up services to our local community. Whether at home, in the community, or within the hospital, our goal is to empower individuals to lead independent and healthier lives.
• To provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to patients in neonatal, gynaecology and paediatric wards and clinical areas in line with clinical pharmacy standards and objectives.
• To identify areas of concern related to medicine use within this specialty and escalate to the Divisional Lead as appropriate.
• To act as a mentor and role model for rotational pharmacists and trainee pharmacists, particularly for the development of clinical expertise.
