Job Advert: Farm Support Manager

Location: Hillsborough
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
Rate of Pay: £17.43 per hour
Contract: Temporary, ongoing

About the Role

A great opportunity has arisen for a Farm Support Manager to join a well‑established agricultural team in Hillsborough. This role will support both the Farm Manager and Head of Branch in gathering, analysing, and presenting key information to help collate the organisation's Land Strategy and Sustainability Plan.

This is an ideal role for someone with strong agricultural knowledge and excellent administrative, data-handling, and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Farm Manager and Head of Branch in collating strategic documents relating to land use and sustainability.
  • Prepare and format documentation for tenders.
  • Gather quotes and raise purchase orders as required.
  • Assist the Farm Manager with land rental administration and related paperwork.
  • Collect and organise data such as soil index, yields, diesel usage, and other farm metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports including yield per hectare, balance papers, and performance summaries.
  • Sign off staff timesheets in the absence of the Farm Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with internal teams.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 2 A‑Levels or equivalent/higher qualification
  • Strong knowledge and education in Agriculture or Farming,
    or
    Level 3 qualification in Agriculture / Land Management
  • Proven ability to collate data, prepare reports, and work accurately with figures and agricultural information
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Good IT skills with confidence using spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
