A highly supportive special school in Wolverhampton is seeking two full‑time Complex Needs Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated staff team. The school supports children and young people with a wide range of moderate to complex learning needs, communication needs, physical challenges and additional social or emotional needs.
⭐ About the Pupils (SEN / Complex Needs)You will be supporting pupils aged 5-19 with a range of needs, such as:
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD)
- Complex learning and cognition needs
- Autism and communication difficulties (SLCN)
- Social, emotional and behavioural needs (SEMH)
- Physical or sensory needs, including mobility or medical requirements
The school environment is structured, nurturing and focused on developing independence, communication and emotional wellbeing.
Your Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesThis is an excellent opportunity for candidates with care, support work or SEN experience-or those looking to start a career in specialist education. Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and small‑group support tailored to individual pupils
- Assisting with personal care, mobility support and feeding (training provided)
- Supporting pupils using visual aids, communication tools and sensory resources
- Assisting with physiotherapy routines, life‑skills activities and structured learning programmes
- Helping pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and positive behaviour
- Preparing classroom resources and maintaining a calm, safe environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Term‑time only
- Full‑time, long‑term roles with training provided
Location - WolverhamptonThe school is based within Wolverhampton and is accessible from:
- Penn
- Wednesfield
- Bilston
- Sedgley
- Walsall & surrounding areas
