The Role

This is a e, Full-Time position starting ASAP. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and Behaviour Support Worker, the successful candidate will bridge the gap between academic instruction and emotional regulation. This is not a "standard" classroom assistant role; it requires someone who can step up to lead a class in the teacher's absence while simultaneously managing complex behavioural needs. You will be a mentor, an educator, and a pillar of support for students who require a bespoke approach to their education.

Requirements
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Passion for SEND/SEMH support
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Responsibilities

  • Leading whole-class instruction
  • Implementing Behaviour Plans
  • Supporting small group interventions
  • Mentoring students
  • Collaborating with SENCOs/Teachers
  • Recording behavioural incidents
  • Modifying lesson plans for inclusivity
  • Supervising break and lunch periods
  • Fostering positive peer relationships
  • Attending departmental meetings
