Summary
The Best Connection are an employment business recruiting on behalf of our client.
Our client manufactures and distributes high quality household furniture from their depot based in Eggborough, DN14 postcode, and we are recruiting a 7.5t Driver to start immediately.
This role will be a Temp to Perm for the successful candidate.
The work entails working 5 days out of 7, so some weekend work may be involved. The driver will work with a Porter as a 2 person team and load the vehicle at the start of the day and then carry out deliveries to households or company high street store showrooms on a multi-drop basis. The furniture is carried from the vehicle to the delivery premises by the Driver and Porter, so applicants must be physically fit in order to do this. Usual start time is 07.00 but this may vary from time to time dependant on the requirements of the route.
Further to this the successful applicant will be expected to manage the following aspects of the role :
- Daily route planning and control of delivery documentation
- Safe loading and unloading of furniture to customer properties and warehouses
- Communication with customers, stores and warehouses
- Some furniture assembly in customer properties
- Collection of returns and recycled furniture
- Liaise with customers to confirm delivery times
- Ensure furniture is unwrapped and checked for any damage prior to leaving the customer's properties
Previous experience of multi-drop deliveries within the furniture industry would be advantageous.
PAY RATES :
Mon to Fri days £ 13.72 per hour
Weekend days £ 20.58 per hour
Maximum 6 minor points on licence. No DR/DD/CD/TT or IN10 endorsements please.
