Our client, a leading Oil and Gas operator are currently recruiting for a SharePoint M365 Data Analyst to join them on a contract basis initially for 6 months based in Aberdeen.
JOB OVERVIEW
SharePoint / M365 Data Analyst supports the design, implementation, and optimization of the enterprise collaboration and productivity platforms. This role is responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and the broader M365 ecosystem. The position requires deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of business processes, governance, and user adoption strategies
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Design and architect SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 solutions to support enterprise collaboration, content management, and workflow automation
• Lead migration initiatives from legacy systems to SharePoint Online and M365, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance
• Develop and enforce governance frameworks for SharePoint and M365 usage, including permissions, data classification, retention, and compliance
• Configure and manage SharePoint site collections, hubs, templates, and modern web parts to meet business requirements
• Integrate M365 services such as Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI), Teams, and OneDrive to streamline business processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and deliver high-impact digital workplace experiences
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to IT teams on best practices for M365 architecture, security, and scalability
• Monitor system performance, usage analytics, and user adoption metrics to continuously improve platform effectiveness
• Stay current with Microsoft roadmap updates and emerging technologies to advise on innovation opportunities
• Support change management and training initiatives to drive user engagement and digital literacy across the organization
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and internal security policies
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to SharePoint and M365 services
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience architecting and managing SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 environments
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Power Platform Expertise in information architecture, metadata design, and content lifecycle management
• Familiarity with Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and M365 security & compliance center
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Power Automate
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to support cross-functional projects and teams
QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field Experience in SharePoint/M365 architecture and administration
• Microsoft certifications such as MS-600, MS-700, MS-101, or equivalent
