Summary

We're looking for a Traffic Signal Engineer to join our Birmingham team based in Priestly Wharf, Birmingham. In this role be supporting the delivery of a safe and efficient traffic management solutions for the Birmingham's traffic network. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to how people navigate our busy city streets safely. Due to the nature of this position a full driving licence is required.



Location: Priestly Wharf, Birmingham - travel to the office required with some remote working available

Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per year + excellent benefits

What will you be responsible for?As a Traffic Signal Engineer, you'll be maintaining existing signals and commissioning new sites through various projects, ensuring correct installation and alignment with industry standards.

Your day to day will include:

-Conducting site acceptance testing and design reviews to ensure traffic signals are operating correctly

-Assisting with traffic signal asset management and documentation

-Contributing to detection strategies and technical solutions

-Updating traffic signal databases and preparing specifications for modifications

-Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with safety standards



What are we looking for?This role of Traffic Signal Engineer is great if you:

-Hold relevant electrical qualifications such as NVQ level 2-3 Highway electrical systems or City & Guilds Installation (BS7671)

-Have electrical testing and inspection experience

-Are experienced in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)

-Bring extensive experience in traffic signal installation and engineering

-Are confident working with traffic signal design and control systems such including SCOOT/MOVA/UTC
