Communication Interrogate,analyseand present theVascular and NVRdata to internal and external parties to support a programme of continuous improvement in the care ofVascularpatients. As the Trusts principal point of contact withNVRand clinical and external groups, keepup to datewithNVRand otherVascularregistry and audit issues, and ensure that theClinical Outcomes & Effectiveness Team and VascularNetwork are kept appraised of relevant developments. Establishing andmaintaininggood working links with pre-hospital services (NAAASP, local screening) and localand regionalVascular units. As theVascular Auditrepresentative, prepare for and attend regularTrustmeetings to review and update the audit progress. To deputise at the meeting in the absence of theClinical Governance Lead or Lead Vascular Nurse Specialist. Communicate with patients to capture patient consent giving permission to be part of the national audits and capture audit data. Service Delivery andImprovement To be aware of NVR and CQUIN Best Practice tariff and ensure all eligibleVascularpatients areidentifiedand captured. Toidentifygaps in data collection and design protocols to capture data for both clinical outcome improvements. Interpret national and local policy todeterminethe implications for the collection and reporting of data. Ensure senior clinicians and managers are adequately briefed on all new publications and changes to national,regionaland local policies and guidance. SupportingResearch and Audit Validate and reviewsubmitteddata reported quarterlyto NVRto improve quality and accuracy of data thereby achieving maximum Best Practice Tariffs payment. The postholder will be expected toprovideexpert audit advice, to contribute toandfacilitateclinical governancemeetings, including room bookings, minutes andmaintainingcompliance with Trust requirements.This will include meetings with external partner organisations, e.g. as part of theVascularNetwork. To have a specialist input into the design, collection, analysis, reportpreparationand dissemination of results. Tomonitorand investigate data quality issues, ensuring problems are brought to the attention of theappropriate manager. Administration Identifypatients who meet the NVR audit criteria, review their case notes and other relevant information held electronically (e.g. on the Patient Administration System,MediViewer, Bamboo) and on paper, andsubmitthese data to theNVRaudit programme.Considerable emphasis is placed on the submission oftimely,accurateand comprehensive data. Entry of patient data into theclinical systems (currentlyDendrite)will also bean important elementof this post and as such supports the robust entry of data intotheNVR. Data submission toNVRcurrently involves manual data entry through the web-based portal.However,the piloting of thecurrent clinicalsystem(Dendrite)is supporting the exploration of alternative means of reducing manual and duplicate data entry.The postholder will be expected to support these developments, for example byidentifyingopportunities for streamlining processes across the range of her/his responsibilities.
