Location: Gunwharf Quays

Department: Cleaning and Environmental

Working hours: 6am to 6pm (4 days on 4 days off) = average 42 hours per week

Pay Rate: £14.84



Position Overview

-We are seeking an experienced Cleaning and Environmental Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the cleaning team to ensure all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. They will manage daily operations, allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Your main aim will be to supervise and manage a team of cleaning staff, undertake daily inspections of the centre and ensure all staff are working productively and safely. Shift-based work, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required.

Responsibilities

-Maintain regular contact with the Client and Guests as required

-Deal with any issues efficiently and in a professional manner, referring to Site/Line Manager where appropriate.

-Supervise and support cleaning staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.

-Organize work schedules, assign duties, and manage staff attendance.

-Provide training and guidance to new and existing team members.

-Ensure that cleaning is delivered to the expected and agreed standards

-Provide technical training as and when required for all cleaning staff and liaise with Manager for additional training

-Monitor and review cleaning staff performance

-Advise Line Manager of any potential disciplinary issues as and when issues arise

-Take ownership of Health & Safety for yourself and others at work

-Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety regulations.

-Maintain records of cleaning activities and safety checks.

-Maintain up to date training records

-Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and equipment.

-Act as the main point of contact between cleaning staff and Management.

-Handle staff queries and escalate issues when necessary.

-Report hazards or maintenance issues immediately.

-Ensure that all cleaning tasks are carried out in accordance with the specification

-Ensure cleaning staff understand and work to task schedules

-Ensure the effective use of equipment and materials

-Report all machinery faults

-Ensure that cleaning operatives are working the correct hours and taking correct breaks

-Distribute uniforms, monitor standard of cleanliness and repair

-Ensure that machinery, equipment and cleaning cupboard are kept in a clean and tidy state

-Work bank holidays if they are on contracted days of work

Skills

-Have Previous experience in a cleaning or supervisory role.

-Strong leadership and organizational skills.

-Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.

-Understanding of health & safety standards.

-Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

-Be reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude

-Be able to work to a schedule on their own initiative

-Have good communication skills

-Driven to complete tasks above expectations

-Attention to detail and dedication to achieving excellence

-Able to manage team to complete task at the highest standard
