The Student Money Service (SMS) is a specialist team which makes up part of Student Life services at UWE. SMS provides a range of support to applicants and students to access funds, be provided with specialist money advice as well as money education and financial capability.
The role of Student Money Service Assistant will sit within the Engagement Team but will work across the Student Money Service to support our administrative processes and service delivery.
The Engagement Team is focused on delivering money- education and information to students with the aim of improving their financial capability. The role holder will work closely with the Engagement Coordinator as well as Money Advisers to deliver money education using social media, face to face events and other platforms. Alongside this, the role holder will support the Funds Team, which manages the disbursement of university support funds, with the administration of the Student Money Service’s hardship funds to students.
About you
The Student Money Service is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Engagement team, working 37 hours per week. You will assist with the delivery of the Student Money Service Engagement activities including money education to students in various forms such as face to face, events and workshops and social media. You will work closely with the rest of the Student Money Service as well as other teams across the university to develop ways to promote financial education.
You will help administer applications to the university's student support funds and will have excellent attention to details, IT skills and enjoy working as part of a busy team.
You will have a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service, be passionate about money education and have a good working knowledge of using social media and various communion methods.

This is a full time, permanent post working 37 hours per week. Interviews are likely to take place in early March 2026.
