Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday–Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: February 2026

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant at Napier School, you’ll help pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is more than a support role — it’s your chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Key responsibilities:

Support pupils individually and in groups with literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills
Assist teachers with planning and delivering lessons and activities
Implement positive behaviour strategies and maintain a calm classroom environment
Prepare resources and support trips and school activities
Maintain records of pupil progress and behaviour
Supervise pupils during breaks and lunch
Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking calm, compassionate, and proactive individuals committed to supporting pupils with autism and complex needs.

Essential qualities and experience:

Experience in educational, childcare, or SEN settings
Full UK driving licence (essential for off-site activities)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond positively to challenging behaviour
A team player with a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn

Napier School is a brand-new independent specialist primary school in Farnborough, Hampshire, supporting pupils aged 5–11 with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs. In a nurturing and inclusive environment, pupils receive personalised educational and therapeutic support tailored to their individual needs. Our broad and engaging curriculum develops academic skills, independence, social understanding, and emotional wellbeing. Napier School empowers every child to build confidence, thrive, and achieve their full potential.

For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
