Crynodeb
A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for a happy and lively 9-year-old girl living in the Liskeard area. She has combined ADHD with Autism and would like someone who she can build up a positive relationship with and provide her with 1:1 support.
She would like someone to support her with her social skills out in the community, gaining independence away from her family. She loves being outdoors and her interests depend on the seasons – she loves exploring and making a mess and is a real thrill seeker who loves rollercoasters!
Your support will enable her to explore the local area, enjoy more social opportunities, and establish an engaging routine.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow and achieve greater independence while making a positive impact on their life.
Good rate of pay at £12.75 per hour, with an annual review to increase wages above the National Minimum Living Wage.
5 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible. Evenings and school holiday availability will be required.
Car driver essential. There is access to a personal Motability car.
Some experience or knowledge of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
If you would like to apply for this role, please send your CV. Alternatively, you can request an application form.
Your CV or application form will be passed onto the family for their consideration. Due to the high number of applicants that are received for various roles, it is not possible to inform applicants if they have been unsuccessful.
Please apply by emailing a copy of your CV and quoting the reference code AHDP/3015 to: cypdirectpayments@cornwall.gov.uk
Please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
