Are you a skilled Plater looking to work in a company that’s been shaping the future of engineering for 55 years? Collis Engineering Ltd delivers comprehensive, high-quality engineering services across multiple sectors, including rail, nuclear, telecommunications and construction. We are a trusted supplier to some of the industry’s biggest names, specialising in mechanical and structural applications.
We’re looking for a skilled Plater to join our fabrication department. The ideal candidate will be time-served or apprentice-trained, with a strong background in working with steel and metal components and experience using both hand and power tools. You’ll be confident in interpreting technical drawings and communicating effectively while also being able to work independently.
As a Plater, you’ll play a key role in fabricating and assembling steel structures and components to precise specifications, ensuring that every project meets the highest quality standards.

What You’ll Do:
• Fabricate and assemble custom steel structures and components
• Interpret technical drawings and work instructions
• Fabricate jigs where needed and operate standard workshop equipment

What We’re Looking For:
• Time-served experience/Apprentice Trained
• Must be experienced in MAG welding
• Competent with press brake, saws, drills, grinders and other workshop machinery
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail
• Qualifications: City & Guilds Craft or equivalent, NVQ Level 3

Hours:
• Full-Time (39 hours per week), Permanent
• Monday–Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
• Friday: 07:00 – 14:00

Pay: £13.98 to £14.75 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus overtime
