Senior Engineer - National Housebuilder

Your new company
You will be joining one of the UK's leading national housebuilders, recognised for delivering high‑quality developments and maintaining a strong regional presence across Scotland. Due to sustained success and a very healthy confirmed pipeline of sites across the Central Belt, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Engineer to strengthen their technical team.
Your new role
As Senior Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing all engineering input from feasibility stage through to construction. You will work closely with internal Technical, Land and Construction teams as well as external consultants to ensure developments are engineered to the highest standard, delivered efficiently, and meet both commercial and regulatory requirements.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading engineering design assessments for new and existing developments
- Managing external engineering consultants, ensuring technical solutions are robust, cost‑effective and aligned with programme
- Overseeing infrastructure, drainage, roads and utilities coordination
- Providing engineering expertise throughout the build programme
- Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement within the engineering team
This role offers the autonomy and influence expected at senior level, backed by a stable and well‑structured technical department.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in an engineering role within a housebuilder, consultancy or civil engineering background
- Strong understanding of roads, drainage, utilities and infrastructure design
- Ability to manage consultants, challenge design solutions and drive projects forward
- Confident communicator with excellent problem‑solving skills
- A proactive mindset and a desire to work within a high‑performing technical team
