We are looking for a motivated psychologist with an interest in working with children, young people and families with complex health conditions experiencing associated psychological distress or difficulties, as well as in working with professional colleagues in a collaborative manner to provide high quality holistic care.

Anticipated interview date: 10thFebruary 2026

The post will be based full time within the Non-Embedded Specialities Team (NEST) offering a wide range of opportunities and varied ways of working.

NEST provides psychological support across general medicine as well as those medical specialities at the Evelina London that do not have an embedded psychology service (e.g. orthopaedics, palliative care, surgery, plastics). The psychologist will be based within a small team of other NEST psychologists across different grades.

The role requires both inpatient and outpatient working. Direct clinical input to young people and families, group work, MDT working, team liaison, and staff consultation are all fundamental elements of the work offered by NEST.

The post sits within Paediatric Psychology Services, which offers good opportunities for collaborative working, audit, research, teaching and training. We meet regularly as a team to explore clinical dilemmas and share new learnings and developments. Supervision will be provided by an experienced Psychologist within the team. Additional opportunities include but do not stop with; journal club, reflective practice groups, and peer supervision as well as SIG networks nationally. Service relevant CPD is actively encouraged.

We are among the UK’s busiest, most successful foundation trusts. We provide specialist care for patients as well as a full range of local hospital and community services for people in Lambeth and Southwark.

We have a long tradition of clinical and scientific achievement; as part of King’s Health Partners we are one of England’s eight academic health sciences centres, bringing together world-class clinical services, teaching and research. We have one of the National Institute for Health Research’s biomedical research centres, established with King’s College London in 2007, and dedicated clinical research facilities.

We have around 22,700 staff, making us one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country and one of the biggest employers locally. We aim to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and continue to develop new and existing partnerships with local people, patients, neighbouring NHS organisations, local authorities and charitable bodies and GPs.

We strive to recruit and retain the best staff as the dedication and skills of our employees lie at the heart of our organisation and ensure that our services are of the highest quality, safe and focused on our patients.
