We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Pastoral Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be dependable, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with students.
As a Pastoral Officer you will have the rewarding responsibility of working closely with the Year 9 cohort during the 202526 academic year and will transition with the cohort each subsequent year. In the following year (202627), the role will support the incoming Year 7 cohort. Your role will involve providing invaluable support to students, nurturing strong home-school relationships, and working closely with Teachers and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Experience of working within a school setting, including the relevant Health & Safety requirements is desirable, though training will be provided.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to the post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring background check.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.
Applicants are advised that by applying for this position they are declaring that they are not subject to any immigration controls or restrictions that prohibit them undertaking work in the UK, and that they are able to provide proof of their Right to Work in the UK if they are invited to attend an interview.
The school will carry out an online search as part of their due-diligence for all shortlisted candidates in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025.
Applicants are informed that if appointed to this post their contract of employment will be with the school governing board who is the employer, and not Rochdale Council.
