Rochdale Town Hall is seeking enthusiastic Casual Kitchen Porters to join our kitchen team and help keep operations running smoothly behind the scenes.
About the Role
As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in our kitchen.
From dishwashing to assisting with food prep, your work will help ensure our chefs and catering team can deliver top-quality service for events, functions, and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean all kitchen areas as directed by the chefs
- Maintain hygiene standards in food storage areas (fridges, freezers)
- Receive and organise kitchen deliveries
- Wash dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and other kitchenware
- Assist chefs with basic food prep (e.g., peeling, chopping, washing ingredients)
- Clean and organise tableware from the restaurant and event spaces
- Support with refuse disposal within the building
- Participate in monthly deep cleans of the kitchen
Who We’re Looking For
- A team player with a strong work ethic
- Able to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks
- Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is a plus, but not essential
