Crynodeb
Act as an effective resource/advisor to colleagues, in the delivery of nursing care. Ensure that nursing practice reflects current clinical developments and is based on sound evidence. Promote a healthy, positive and safe environment for patients and staff. Take responsibility for the day to day nursing organisation of the clinical area. Participate in setting and reviewing standards for practice and evaluating outcomes as part of the clinical governance agenda Undertake the Trust Corporate and Directorate specific development and competency Programmes. Able to identify learning needs in self, negotiating a Personal Development Plan recognising own limitations. To undertake any expanded roles deemed necessary for the role following the Trust policy Facilitate and take part in specialist clinics and take on extended roles ie Blood taking, ECGs, skin prick/ allergy testing, pre operative assessment clinic. Administration of prescribed injections. To be responsible for the ordering and safe supply, storage, administration, checking and disposal of medications. To promote and maintain effective communication both written and verbal. Support the senior nurse in planning the staff duty rotas to meet the requirements of the needs of the department and clinics Monitor and appraise the performance of staff within their sphere of responsibility. Be aware of the budgetary requirements within their clinical areas of nursing. Participate in regular staff meetings.
