About the role

As an Examiner you’ll be expected to carry out timely marking, by applying accurate and consistent marks on candidate evidence, in line with the agreed application of the marking grid and tolerances set at standardisation and feedback from Senior Examiner sampling.

The question paper and Employer-set Project assess the knowledge and skills learned as part of the core element of the T Level. They are set and marked by City & Guilds and delivered across Summer and Autumn series each year.

The question paper covers topics such as:

  • Health and Safety
    • Sustainability
    • Biosecurity
    • Supply Chain
    • Learning theories
    • Anatomy and physiology
    • Animal health

The Employer-set Project consists of several tasks linked to an employer-set brief that changes each series:

  • Research
  • Report
  • Project plan
  • Presentation
  • Evaluation

Further details, including sample assessments, can be found on the 8717 qualification webpage.
