Become an integral part of the Broomfield Community Maternity Team, based at the Chelmsford Central Health Hub, where you'll contribute to providing exceptional care for expectant mothers and their families.

In this role, you’ll take on a variety of administrative responsibilities, including managing patient records, scheduling appointments, handling correspondence, and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of patient information.

You’ll work closely with healthcare professionals, playing a vital role in supporting the delivery of seamless maternity services. This position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the Trust’s policies, procedures, and high standards. ***Please note this post is a 6 month fixed term contract from start date***

Provide a comprehensive and efficient administrative service within agreed timescales, ensuring all maternity documentation is accurately prepared, processed, and maintained. Handle telephone enquiries promptly and professionally, seeking advice when appropriate, and support clear and effective communication across the maternity and wider multidisciplinary team, as well as with patients and visitors.

Ensure all appointments are scheduled in a timely manner, including processing maternity referrals and arranging dating scans. Provide administrative support to maternity staff and use relevant computer systems for booking appointments, completing referrals, and cashing up clinics to support clinicians in delivering high‑quality patient care.

Coordinate visits and offer support to community midwives and MCAs by providing telephone check‑ins and ensuring appropriate safety monitoring for lone workers during home visits.
