We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicatedSpecialist Ophthalmic Nurseto join our dynamicBotulinum Clinic, working closely with our highly skilledOculoplastic team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive, patient-focused service that delivers specialist treatments to improve both function and quality of life.

No prior botulinum injection experience is required —full training will be provided. We welcome nurses with a strong ophthalmic background, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Safely administer periocular and facial botulinum toxin A injections across a variety of ophthalmic indications including blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, synkinesis, and entropion.

Perform lacrimal gland injections when required or after appropriate training.

Obtain informed consent prior to procedures, clearly explaining benefits, risks, and alternatives.

Conduct post-treatment telephone follow-ups to monitor efficacy, manage side effects, and provide patient support.

Offer advice on common post-injection effects and escalate complex or serious issues promptly.

Maintain accurate records of all administered injections including dose, injection site, batch numbers, and adverse reactions.

Work closely with ophthalmologists and multidisciplinary colleagues to review patient care and make recommendations regarding treatment plans or medication adjustments.

The post holder will be responsible for providing direct patient care within the department; considering individual patient needs and prioritising effectively; ensuring that when a patient’s condition is deteriorating this is communicated and reported to other members of the healthcare team and acted upon in a professional and timely manner.

They will seek to actively improve patient care, always leading by example, with an expectation to follow protocols and work in line with the Clinical Governing

This role requires strict adherence to prescribed treatment protocols, detailed patient assessment, consent, documentation, and effective multidisciplinary collaboration within the ophthalmology team.
