A forward-thinking and well-regarded secondary school in Rainham is seeking a talented graduate to join its team and support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role – Graduate STEM Tutor
As a Graduate STEM Tutor, you will work closely with experienced teachers to support students’ academic progress across STEM subjects. Your responsibilities will include:
• Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions across KS3 and KS4.
• Supporting pupils with core STEM concepts, problem-solving skills, and exam preparation.
• Assisting in lessons to ensure students remain engaged, confident, and supported.
• Leading structured intervention sessions to boost attainment and subject confidence.
• Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to feedback and assessment
• Helping to maintain a positive, focused, and academically ambitious learning environment.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role that offers a genuine insight into teaching and life in a busy secondary school.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a graduate who is enthusiastic, professional, and ambitious:
• A 2:1 or above in a STEM-related degree (Science, Maths, Engineering, Technology, or similar).
• A strong interest in education, with the potential to pursue teacher training in the future.
• Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, reliable, and professional approach.
• Previous school experience is desirable but not essential.
