Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £26,139 FTE per annum
Annual Leave: 31 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period)
As our Cleaning Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate cleaning operations across the College. The postholder will be responsible for cleaning task scheduling, workforce supervision, and the delivery of high standards of cleanliness, ensuring that all areas are maintained in line with College policies, health and safety requirements, and agreed service standards.
The post holder will lead and support a team of cleaning staff, while also undertaking the physical cleaning of designated areas as required, particularly to cover absences, peak periods, or specialist tasks. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to plan and prioritise workloads across a busy educational environment.

Responsibilities of our Cleaning Supervisor:
Plan, schedule, and allocate cleaning tasks and workloads to ensure effective coverage across all assigned areas.
Undertake hands-on/physical cleaning of designated areas when required, including cover for absences, deep cleans, or high-priority tasks.
Ensure cleaning is delivered in accordance with agreed schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
Ensure all cleaning activities comply with health and safety legislation, COSHH regulations, and College procedures.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Monitor and manage stocks of cleaning materials, consumables, and equipment.
Ensure the correct and safe use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and materials.
Supervise, support, and direct cleaning staff on a daily basis.
Assist with the induction and training of new staff, including safe working practices and cleaning standards.
What we’re looking for in our Cleaning Supervisor:
Previous experience working in a cleaning or facilities environment.
Ability to plan and schedule cleaning tasks and workloads effectively.
Good knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and safe working practices.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic IT skills (e.g. rotas, emails, simple reporting systems).
Flexibility to work alternating shifts and occasional evenings, as required.
