Location: Cranleigh, Surrey

Salary: £90 - £95 per day

Contract: Full-Time, 5 Days a week (Long-term to Permanent)

Start Date: ASAP

Are you resilient, compassionate, and ready to make a real difference?

We are seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school team in Cranleigh. This is a highly rewarding role within the school's Inclusion department, focusing on students aged 11-16 with complex learning and emotional needs.

This is a long-term to permanent position, offering you the stability of a consistent role with the opportunity to transition into a permanent contract.

The Role: Specialist Student Support

Reporting to the SENCo, you will be a key advocate for students with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

  • Tailored Support: Implement EHCPs and adapt curriculum resources to meet individual student targets.

  • In-Class Intervention: Provide high-quality 1-to-1 or small-group support to foster academic and social growth.

  • Independence & Wellbeing: Help students build the confidence and "life-ready" skills they need for adulthood.

  • Behaviour Management: Use proactive de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment.

What We Are Looking For
  • Essential: Proven experience working within a school setting.

  • Desirable: Prior experience supporting pupils with specific and complex SEN.

  • Attributes: Exceptional patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Commitment: Available for an immediate start and able to work 5 days a week during term time.

What We Offer
  • Competitive Pay: £90 - £95 per day.

  • Stability: A 5-day-a-week role with a clear pathway to a permanent position.

  • Professional Growth: Access to specialist SEN training and a multi-disciplinary team.
