My name is Niamh, and I am the recruitment resourcer in the TeacherActive Essex office. I have been working closely with schools in Basildon and surrounding areas supporting them with all aspects of their recruitment. I’m currently supporting various Primary & Secondary schools in Basildon, and the surrounding areas who are looking for Qualified Teachers on a long-term or supply basis.
The Qualified Teacher role will involve stepping into classes when regular staff are absent, this would be for daily sickness and longer-term absences like maternity leave. You’ll deliver pre-set work, manage the classroom, and keep learning on track, while adapting quickly to different schools, year groups, and routines. It’s a flexible role that suits teachers who are confident, organised, and comfortable working across a variety of settings and year groups.
The successful Teacher will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or strong, relevant classroom experience
• Confidence managing a classroom independently
• Ability to deliver pre-set work and maintain routines
• Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
