Crynodeb
We’re excited to be opening our first-ever shop in Pudsey! Which means we’re looking to recruit a great team to turn it into another highly successful store, selling quality clothing and accessories, homeware, books and toys all donated by our supporters.
Based in an old bank, this will be a characterful shop with a boutique feel. A brilliant place for local people to bargain hunt, shop sustainably, donate their preloved stuff and even volunteer. And every penny of profit made by our shops helps us be here for children with life-shortening conditions and their families who desperately need our support.
While you’ll ideally have worked in a shop before, it’s not essential. What’s more important is that you have management experience and are skilled at motivating a team to achieve sales targets and so raise vital funds for our children’s hospice. Passionate about building great customer relationships so that passing shoppers and people bringing donations become devoted customers, if you’re excited by the chance to help get our new shop up and running, then we want to hear from you!
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
Working with the shop manager, you will:
Help achieve and improve shop and online sales.
Keep pricing, gift aid and online listings accurate and up to standard.
Use sales reports to understand performance and spot opportunities.
Deliver great customer service and ensure volunteers do the same.

Maintain strong merchandising and window displays.
Keep the shop clean, safe and well‑presented.
Open and close the shop as a keyholder and ensure safety requirements are met.
Help secure good‑quality donated stock through local relationships.
Sort, rotate, price and display donations safely and efficiently.
Promote furniture collections and house clearances.
Work with the shop manager to motivate, support and guide the team.
Help with volunteer recruitment, training and day‑to‑day support.
Complete admin and financial tasks accurately, including banking and record‑keeping.
Keep records secure and confidential.
Help maintain strong cash handling and security awareness.
We expect all staff to undertake any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading, as requested by your line manager or their higher level of authority on behalf of the charity.
