Crynodeb
Work with third party and statutory bodies and establish community links/support to enable clients to access service provision including Social Care, Housing Services, Police and Courts, etc. Assess and provide advocacy to enable clients financial position to be optimised. This would include signposting/referral for budgeting & debt services including Local Authority services. Support clients with claiming new benefits from initial contact of DWP/council, completion of forms. Remain supportive until all entitled benefits are in payment. Ability to challenge Social Care/DWP/Housing decisions when benefits or housing have been inaccurately awarded or removed according to legislation and policies. Provide housing advice and referral via a Duty to Refer to Local Authorities under the Homeless Reduction Act, for people at risk of or Homeless. Support to secure alternative housing where present accommodation may be unsuitable for clients mental or physical needs.
