Job Overview
We are a small, family-run, manufacturing company, producing a variety of bespoke plastic components for a range of businesses.
This role involves operating a light manufacturing machine all day (for up to 5 hours at a time).
There are a variety of machines and each operator is assigned to one machine at a time based on the orders being manufactured each day.
Some tasks will involve standing at the machine, others involve being seated, for example when trimming mouldings or finishing products.
Educational
• Maths and English to GCSE level preferred
Work Experience
• Previous full time work experience is essential
• Experience in a similar role/industry is not essential as full training will be provided for this role
Abilities
• Ability and wish to learn
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Numerate – counting and understanding of percentages
• Ability to read production sheets and check materials
Disposition
• Ability to cope with routine tasks
• Calm and able to focus on the task in hand
• Dependable
Personal Presentation
• Clean and tidy
Other
• Observant – monitoring the machine and checking quality
• Good dexterity skills are essential
• Lifting boxes of up to 15 Kg will be required (taking them a short distance to be dispatched as you fill them)
• There is some machine noise, so the ability to work in a factory atmosphere is required
• There are some plastic fumes, so the job may not be suitable for asthmatics.
Pay: Minimum wage/ living wage (linked to age)
Holiday: 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
