Deputy Nursery Manager

Salary: Up to £35,000
Hours: 40 per week | Full-Time


Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership of a warm and welcoming early years setting. This nursery is passionate about delivering high-quality childcare and education in a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Third In Charge ready to take the next step, or an established Deputy Nursery Manager seeking a new challenge within a supportive and professional team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and childcare regulations.
  • Proven experience working in an early years setting, within a leadership role – Room Leader, Deputy Nursery Manager or equivalent
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in partnership with children, parents, and staff.
  • Passion for creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating early years environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Lead by example to maintain a high standard of care and education across all age groups.
  • Mentor, supervise, and inspire a team of early years practitioners, encouraging professional growth and teamwork.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and carers, ensuring open communication and trust.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring activities are engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Ensure the nursery provides a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment that prioritises children’s wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Manage resources and nursery supplies effectively.
  • Step into the Nursery Manager role when required, taking full responsibility for operations.
  • Maintain accurate records on attendance, progress, and safeguarding.
