Summary

Wise Owls Childcare is a leading provider of breakfast, after-school and holiday clubs in Maidenhead for children aged 3-14 years. We operate two breakfast clubs and 3 afterschool clubs.

We are looking for Cook to join our busy and fun Afterschool club in Courthouse Junior School, SL6 5HE.

The position is 15 hours a week during term time. Monday 2pm-6pm, Tuesday-Thursday 3pm-6pm, Friday 3pm-5pm.

Daily Tasks – Cooking

To prepare healthy and attractive meals each day following the Club Menu enough food for each and every child attending with minimal wastage to prevent land fill.
To prepare alternative meals for children with allergies or dietary requirements
To ensure all labels are checked for allergens before giving children their meal
To ensure all hot food that is provided is temperature checked with a probe and is above the recommended temperature
To ensure you check the best before dates before cooking and do a regular stock take of the food on site, be involved in the food items required for the following week.

Daily Tasks -Hygiene, Cleaning

To ensure you wear your kitchen whites and chef hat, ensure your hair is tied back. Ensure your uniform is smart and clean.
To ensure you maintain hygiene standards at all times, ensuring regular hand washing
Ensure you follow the kitchen cleaning schedule and at all times ensure every area of the kitchen is clean and tidy. Before and after preparing food for the children.
Paperwork tasks

Before you start work to conduct a daily kitchen risk assessment ensuring all areas and electricals are safe to work with
To ensure you check fridge and freezer temperatures daily, and these are recorded at all times
To ensure all temperature checks are recorded before each meal is served.
To ensure you follow the ‘Safer Food Better Business’ document at all times, and that this is thoroughly completed, ready for inspection
To ensure all paperwork is organised and concise, this will be checked by the Food Hygiene Standards and Management of the company
To follow the company’s policies and procedures at all times
