Crynodeb
The post holder will contribute to general and specialist clinics in diabetes for adults and will provide training, support and education to clinical colleagues (internally and externally) and medical students and play an integral role in the development of the service, including research and quality improvement. The post holder will be expected to work from and travel to any Diabetes service site; the designated hub for the service is Moulsecoomb Health Centre in Brighton. This role will require working closely with a team of diabetes specialist nurses, podiatrist, dietitians and psychologists. Responsibility for clinical advice to other members of the team, advice and guidance to GPs, and triaging referrals will be expected. The post holder will hold an area of lead responsibility (to be decided once in post). The department is committed to teaching and provides clinical immersion weeks for Y2 Medical students from Brighton and Sussex Medical School, as well as the provision of Diabetes BSMS Modules MDM59 and MDM177. The department has been involved in a number of research projects. There is an active regional research network and research activity is encouraged.
